JoAnn Lafferty Schnittker, 91, widow of William "Bill" Wesley Schnittker, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 22, 2025.
Mrs. Schnittker was born in Osage City, KS to the late Robert Harold Lafferty and Gladys Marie Forss Lafferty. She retired as the owner/operator of Johnson's Variety/Keeko 88¢ Store. JoAnn enjoyed watching the Hallmark Channel and shopping on QVC. She liked to listen to music and dance. JoAnn was a huge fan of the Kansas University Jayhawks basketball. Some of her favorite pastimes was playing Bingo and attending entertainment venues. Seasonal decorating was a passion throughout the year, which was always admired by visitors and the staff at the Palmettos.
JoAnn and Bill cherished their 34 years of marriage and life moments together. JoAnn relocated to Simpsonville, SC in 2017 to be near her son Greg and daughter-in-law Tammy.
Surviving are two sons, Greg Johnson with wife Tammy, and Gerry Johnson, a step daughter Kristen Jones and husband Jason, and granddaughter Marissa Huffman and her husband James.
The family wishes to express sincere gratitude for the kindness and care provided by the staff at the Palmettos and Bon Secours St. Francis hospital. Celebration of Life services will be held in Kansas during the spring season.
