JoAnn Terry

JoAnn Terry, born September 11, 1939, departed this life on Monday, February 9, 2026, at the Wells Hospice Care Center in Hazard, Kentucky being 86-years old. JoAnn was born in Hardburly, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Samuel Straughter Taulbee and the late Ruby Louise Jones Taulbee. Other than her parents, JoAnn was also preceded in death by Two Brothers: Samuel Taulbee and Bill Taulbee; Two Sisters: Jackie Hurley and Barbara Roberts; and Special Aunt, Lucy Lawson. JoAnn was a member of the Solid Rock Fellowship Church; she was a Christian and lived her life as such. JoAnn loved to paint, but her family was her pride & joy, especially all her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchild.

JoAnn Terry leaves the following relatives to cherish her memory: Husband of 67-years: Sheldon Terry of Grapevine, KY; Children: Ruby White & Phillip of Georgetown, KY, Pamela Johnson & Michael of Viper, KY, Mariea Fugate & Lee of Bonnyman, KY, Sheldon Terry, Jr. & Loretta of Viper, KY and Lucy Langdon of Hazard, KY; 11-Grandchildren: Sam Neace, Terry Combs, Jeff Neace, Mary Jo Everidge, Michael Jr. Johnson, Jakob Terry, Preston Terry, Nathan Terry, Anthony Langdon, Stephen Langdon, and Sarah Terry; 20-Great Grandchildren, and 1-Great-Great Grandchild; also a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives & friends survive.

Funeral Services for JoAnn Terry will be conducted on Thursday – February 12, 2026, at 12:00 P.M. at the Engle-Bowling Funeral Home with Ricky Smith officiating. The Interment will follow in the Creekside Cemetery located at Hazard, Kentucky. The Visitation will be at the Engle-Bowling Funeral Home on Wednesday evening from 6:00 – 9:00 P.M.
