Funeral Services Celebrating the Life of Mrs. Joann Welch, 92, of Rayville, LA, will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, December 22, 2023, at Boeuf River Worship Center near Woolen Lake, with Rev. Marvin Tabora officiating. Interment will follow in the Boeuf River Worship Center Cemetery, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home in Rayville, LA.
Mrs. Welch was born on March 19, 1931, in Alto, LA and passed away on December 17, 2023, at Haven Nursing Center in Columbia, LA.
She was retired Manager of Bill’s Dollar Stores. She enjoyed fishing, spending time with family, collecting rocks, anything that had to do with nature, playing board games and her favorite was Wahoo, sewing, and most importantly she loved anything and everything to do with flowers. Mrs. Welch also a member of Woolen Lake Church of God.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Arnold Ray Welch; grandson, Michael Fife; and brother, Arthur “Willie” Wilson.
Survivors include her daughter, Theresa Ann Fife and husband, Keith “Bama” Roper; son, Ray Welch and wife, Debra; grandchildren, Kristy Nacole Minchew and husband Richie, Amanda Mudford, George Allen DeLoach III and wife Angie, Michael DeLoach and wife Katie, Glenn Cox, Matthew Rayburn, Shad Fife and wife Audura, and Haley Fife; eighteen great grandchildren, Maddison, Aiden, Jack, Chance, Raeleigh, Christopher, Brittney, Brandon, Audrey, Jada, Edward, Jack, Everett, Justin, Dakota, Bailey, Katelynn, and Jordie; five great-great-grandchildren, Paisley, Zander, Rayland, Allena, Oakleigh and one on the way; sisters, Laverne Bennett, Charlotte Smith, Patsy Stevens; and brothers, Russell Wilson, Donald Wilson, Peck Wilson, Daniel “Booney” Wilson, and Lynn Wilson; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Pallbearers will be Jacob LaMartihere, Mike DeLoach, Jordie Duchense, Shad Fife, Richard Minchew, Justin Minchew, Donnie Mudford, and Tracy Wheeler. Honorary Pallbearers will be Ryan Box, Benji Lee, Matthew Rayburn, and Glenn Cox.
Memorials may be made to Haven Nursing Center in Columbia.
Visitation will be from 11:00 AM until 2:00 PM Friday, December 22, 2023, at Boeuf River Worship Center.
A meal will be hosted at Full Gospel, 75 Sullivan Acres, Columbia, LA.
