Joanna Stella (Trincia) Janowski passed away peacefully on April 24, 2025. Born May 27, 1936 in Wilmington, Delaware to Jenny and Earl Trincia, Joanna spent her life in New Castle and Newark, Delaware.

As a child, she worked at her family dairy. She graduated from Brown Vocational School in 1955 as a beautician and worked at Ruth Sands' Beauty Salon and The Hairport. For 45 years, Joanna enjoyed being a bus driver in New Castle County, finally retiring in 2014. Throughout her life, she enjoyed roller skating, walking with friends at the Christiana Mall, watching soap operas, and spending time with her family. A lover of good stories, Joanna relished conversations with her many friends. A devout Catholic, Joanna never missed church on Sundays at Our Lady of Fatima in New Castle. She was generous with what she had and frequently helped others in need.

Joanna is preceded in death by her husband, John Janowski, Sr, parents Earl and Jenny (Martone) Trincia, siblings John Trincia, Pasquina (Pat) Castiglioni, Lucy Benicky, Lawrence Trincia, Earl F Trincia, Jr, Louis Trincia, Francis P. Trincia, son-in-law Harvard Hooper, daughter-in-law Melissa Charney and many sister and brothers-in-law.

Joanna is survived by her son John Janowski of Bear, DE, daughters Carol Hooper and Jacqueline Janowski Blest (Mark) of Newark, DE, brother Richard Trincia of Felton, DE, sister Jacquelyn (Jackie) Zieber of Houston, TX, five grandchildren (Amanda, Gregory, Andrew, Justin, and John Patrick), six great-grandchildren, and longtime family friend Shelly A. Junginger

A Mass of Christian Burial will Be Celebrated on Monday May 5, 2025 at 11:30am at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 345 Bear Christiana Road, Bear, DE 19701. Where Friends and Family are invited to a visitation starting at 10:30am. Interment will be held Privately.

The family would like to thank Newark Manor Nursing Home and Compassionate Care Hospice for their excellent and outstanding care in her last years and days. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Faithful Friends
