Joanna Lynn Phillips, 46 passed away December 20, 2025 at her home in Sissonville, WV. Joanna’s passing was a sudden and tragic loss that has deeply affected those close to her.

Joanna was born February 13, 1979 in Ripley. She was preceded in death by her father Joe Hamric and is survived by her mother Diane Lowther Hamric. In addition to her mother, she is survived by her sons, Michael Evans and Travis Wolfe; brother, Don Hamric; sister, Misty O’Neal (Rich); and nieces Bella, Kendall and Mila along with many friends and family members.

Joanna was a 1997 graduate of Ripley High School. She was a Registered Nurse and currently was serving as the Director of Nursing with Complete Care at Oak Ridge in Charleston where she passionately cared for her patients and was devoted to caring for others. Joanna was an amazing nurse! She loved horses and her Corgis.

A Celebration of Joanna’s Life will be held at 7:00 pm, Tuesday, December 30, 2025 at the Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley, with Rev. Boyd Purcell officiating. A time of visitation with the family will be from 6:00 pm until the time of service on Tuesday at the funeral home. If you know anyone suffering from Domestic Violence, there is help available. In lieu of flowers, donations in Joanna’s memory can be made to the Domestic Violence Shelter, YMCA Charleston, 1426 Kanawha Blvd E., Charleston, WV 25301.
