Joanna Dawn Roberts, age 61, of Moscow, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on September 20, 2025, in Moscow.
Joanna was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend whose love and kindness touched everyone she met. She built her life around faith, family, and compassion, and her warm presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
She attended Mt. Pleasant High School in Mt. Pleasant, TX. She went on to enjoy a successful career as an accountant with the San Antonio Golf Association, where she worked for many years before retiring in 1999. On June 10, 1996, she married the love of her life, Rodney Roberts, in Las Vegas, Nevada, and together they built a beautiful life filled with love, family, and faith. Joanna was a faithful member of the Assembly of God Church in Marion, Arkansas.
She enjoyed working on the farm, mowing, decorating, and traveling to casinos to play the slot machines. Joanna was also proud to serve as President and Founder of the God Warrior Group, where she shared her faith and inspired others.
She is survived by her loving husband, Rodney Roberts; three daughters, Jacqueline Hacker of Nixa, Missouri, Brittney Garcia (Glen) of Lake Hills, Texas, and Trisha Brown (Clint) of Bandera, Texas; and two sons, Joel Newport (Felicia) of Moscow, Tennessee, and Jordan Newport (Katie) of Pensacola, Florida. Joanna also leaves behind her brother, Terry Brice; nineteen cherished grandchildren—Baili, Payne, Kelz, Lisa, Tyler, Michael, Hailey, Ashlyn, Kerstin, Miranda, River, Steele, Alex, Aubrey, Aurora, Atlas, Patrick, Kai, and Ryker; and two great-grandchildren who brought her so much joy. She will also be fondly remembered for the love she had for her beloved Siberian husky, "Finley.”
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Judy Mathis; her sister, Leeda Roach; and her beloved Samoyed pet, “Shiloh.”
Joanna’s greatest joy was her family, and she devoted her life to caring for them and celebrating their accomplishments. She will be remembered for her strength, her compassion, and her ability to make everyone feel loved and welcomed.
A visitation for Ms. Roberts was Friday, September 26th, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 12 noon at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland. Services followed at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel, with interment at Memphis Memorial Gardens in Bartlett, Tennessee.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude for the prayers, love, and support shown during this difficult time.
