Brehon Fredrick Rose (Fred), age 83, resident of Germantown, TN, departed this life Wednesday afternoon, October 22, 2025, at Methodist Germantown Hospital in Germantown, Tennessee.
Fred was born August 5, 1942 in Memphis, TN, the son of Bren Rose and Martha Shields Rose. Fred was a graduate of White Station High School in Memphis. He attended the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, AR, where he was a member of the Kappa Sigma fraternity and played on the University of Arkansas golf team. He met and married the love of his life, Marilyn Strother Rose, while attending the university. He graduated from Crichton College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Arts and Sciences and a minor in theology. Fred was employed for 17 years by Braniff Airlines as a flight dispatcher in the Dallas flight department and by FedEx for 22 years as a Senior Flight Operations Research Analyst in the Memphis flight department. In his spare time, he enjoyed golfing, photography, and flying.
Mr. Rose is survived by his wife, Marilyn of 63 years, one son, Doug Rose (Lori); one sister, Virginia Rose; three grandchildren, Nikki Watkins, (Kyle), Lauren Crawford (Brian Smithart), and Courtney Means (Clifton), three great-grandchildren, Hunter Crawford, Piper Means, and Hadley Smithart. Mr. Rose is preceded in death by his parents, Bren and Martha Rose.
A graveside service at Fayette County Memorial Park was private.
