Joanna V. Wolford

Joanna Virginia Wolford, 91, of Capon Bridge, WV, died on Thursday, November 20, 2025, at Winchester Medical Center.
She was born on February 22, 1934, in Delray, WV, a daughter of the late Albert Earl Wolfe and Audrey Daugherty Wolfe. Joanna worked in the finishing department at Kinney Shoe Factory, Romney, WV for 25 years. She enjoyed her flowers, cooking, feeding her baby lambs and calves, canning her food and being with her family and friends.
Joanna married H. Brown Wolford on April 8, 1952, in Winchester, VA. He preceded her in death on February 12, 2007.
Surviving are one daughter: Cleona V. "Muggs" Grace and her husband Bill of Capon Bridge, WV; one brother, Ronnie Wolfe of Augusta, WV; two sisters, Kay Fitzwater of High View, WV and Carolyn Jane Roberts of Great Falls, MT.
Joanna was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, six brothers, Robert, Richard, Charles, Jim, Alton Sr., and Allen Wolfe and four sisters, Shirley See, Jean Reinsynder, Teena Wolfe, and Karen Swisher.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at Giffin Funeral Home & Crematory, Capon Bridge, WV. Officiating will be Pastor Ann Merkel. Burial will be at the Fairview Cemetery, near Gore, VA.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
