Joanne (Joan) Bache, 89, of Yarmouth Port, MA, passed away peacefully on December 22, 2025. She was the devoted wife of the late Tom Bache, with whom she shared 69 wonderful years of marriage until his passing in July 2025.
Born and raised in
Natick, MA, Joan was the beloved daughter of the late Walter and Ruth (Tupper) Lynch. A proud graduate of Natick High School, she married the love of her life, Tom, shortly after graduation. Together, they built a beautiful life in Ashland, where they raised their family before retiring to Yarmouth Port.
Joan worked for many years as a crossing guard in Ashland, ensuring the safety of countless children, and later in the administrative offices at Sears Roebuck in Natick. She was known for her kindness, reliability, and gentle smile.
Family was the center of Joan's world. She leaves behind her loving children: Tom Bache and his wife, Patrice of Northborough; Rich Bache and his wife, Tricia of Sandwich; Lynda Kelly and her husband, Ed of Sterling; and Karen Curtin and her husband, Ken of Worcester. She was the cherished grandmother of six and great-grandmother of eight, and she also leaves behind many nieces and nephews. Joan was predeceased by her brothers, Robert and Ronald Lynch, and her sister, Janice Hayes.
Joan devoted her life to creating a warm and welcoming home filled with love and laughter. She especially enjoyed hosting July 4th cookouts, Christmas Yankee Swaps, and lively card games, and she brought family together for countless dinners and holiday celebrations, always making everyone feel special. A proud Boston sports fan, she loved cheering on her favorite teams and sharing the excitement with family. Together with Tom, she cherished their Cape home, where family and friends gathered to create treasured memories that will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved her. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
Funeral services will be held at St. Patrick's Church in Natick on January 10 at 10:00 AM, followed by interment at St. Patrick's Cemetery.
