Joanne Marie Connor (Staples), better known as JoJo, passed away on October 10th 2025. She was born on March 2nd 1958 in Naytahwaush, Minnesota to Evelyn Staples (Coleman) & Leonard Staples. She moved to Minneapolis, Mn at a young age. She graduated from North High in 1976. After graduation she attended some college at North Central Bible College & also Macalester College. JoJo started working at a young age & always kept a job. She prided herself on being a Hard Working Woman. She worked for First Bank in the late 80's. She started working for the Minneapolis Police Department in the early 90's. JoJo worked in different departments for MPD throughout her career with them. She retired with them in 2012.

JoJo was very family oriented. She had 4 children. Her oldest son Dean Edward Louis Jr passed away from SIDS at the age of 2 months old in January of 1980. After him she had Joshua Dean Louis Sr., Deanne Evelyn Louis & Alicia Louise LaBlanc. She loved all her grandchildren like crazy. Even her inherited Grandchildren which weren't biologically hers. Throughout the years she would take in her children's friends. She was given the name Ma Dukes by some of her son Joshua's friends. She was a loving mother who would work 2 jobs during the holidays to make sure her kids had a wonderful Christmas.
She was loved by many & will be missed dearly.

She was survived by her son Joshua Dean Louis Sr, & her two daughters, Deanne Evelyn Louis & Alicia Louise Lablanc. Her sister, Karen Staples Gonzalez. Her three grandsons, Joshua Dean Louis Jr, Dominic Trevelle TrueBlood & Jordan Edward Louis. Her five granddaughters Nevaeh Marie Willis, Evelyn Rose Staples, Harley Quinn Hinrichs, Aiyana Najera & Brooklyn Garbow.

She was proceeded in death by her brother, Michael Mountain, her sister, Donna Coleman, her mother, Evelyn Staples (Coleman), her father, Leonard Staples, her nephew Donald Staples Sr & her son, Baby Dean Edward Louis Jr.
