Joanne (nee Bizub) Green, passed away peacefully on October 1, 2025, at the age of 90 in Pompton Plains, New Jersey. Born on April 22, 1935, in Passaic, New Jersey, Joanne was a woman whose life was marked by her zest for learning and an indomitable spirit.
Joanne's early years were spent in the nurturing care of her parents, the late Joseph T. Bizub and Margaret Bizub. She grew up alongside her brother, Thomas J. Bizub, Sr., with whom she shared an unbreakable bond. Joanne's formative years were filled with the joy of learning and the warmth of family, values that she carried throughout her life.
A proud graduate of Passaic High School, Joanne furthered her education at Notre Dame of Maryland University in Baltimore, MD, where she earned her bachelor's degree. Her passion for education led her to teach elementary school for a few years, shaping the minds and hearts of young learners.

Joanne remained in Maryland after college and settled in Annapolis for 60 years. More recently, she has been residing in the Cedar Crest Village community in Pompton, Plains, New Jersey.

Joanne's entrepreneurial spirit shone brightly when she opened Elanne, a women's clothing boutique in Annapolis, MD, with her business partner. For 15 years, she dedicated herself to the boutique, becoming a cherished figure in the community. Her work was not just a career; it was a canvas on which she painted her dreams and shared her impeccable taste with the world.
Married to the late Capt. Basil C. Green, Joanne found a kindred spirit with whom she could share her love for travel and adventure. Together, they traversed the globe, from the cobblestone streets of Europe to the vibrant cultures of Asia and the wild beauty of Africa. Their annual retreats to Barbados were filled with laughter, love, and the creation of cherished memories.
Joanne is survived by her stepdaughters, Katherine Kamowski and her daughter, Jessica and Michelle Cardwell, her husband, Gordon and their children, Trevor and Rachel; stepson, Clarke B. Green and his wife, Cindy and their sons, Christopher and Tyler; Her brother, Thomas J. Bizub, Sr. and his wife, Suellen, along with her nephews, Thomas J. (Toby) Bizub, Jr., his wife, Katherine and their children, Thomas, III, Megan and John and Timothy J. Bizub, his wife, Donna and their children, Joseph, Jack and Caroline; and niece, Suellen Hartigan, her husband, Mark and their children, Annie and Colin will hold her memory dear.

A devout Catholic, Joanne's faith was a guiding light in her life. She was a cherished member of The Chapel at Cedarcrest in Pompton Plains, NJ, and attended weekly Mass at The Naval Academy Chapel in Annapolis, MD. Her faith was as unwavering as her spirit, and it provided comfort and strength to her.
