Sonia M. Acosta Solano, 51, of Passaic, NJ, passed away peacefully on August 7, 2025, surrounded by her loving family, after a nine-year battle with cancer.

Born on July 25, 1974, in Lima, Peru, Sonia moved to Passaic, New Jersey, at the age of 15 in 1989. She graduated from Passaic High School in 1993 and went on to work for International Foodsource LLC from 2013 until 2017.

Sonia was a parishioner of St. Brendan's RC Church in Clifton, NJ, where her faith was a guiding light in her life. She loved to sing, dance, and fill any room with her vibrant energy, joy, and warmth. Above all, Sonia's greatest passion was her family. She was a loving and selfless mother, always putting her children first.

She leaves behind three beloved children: Ricardo Abreu and his wife, Ciary Abreu, who are expecting Sonia's first grandchild; James Acosta; and Diego Cabascango. She is also survived by her mother, Victoria Acosta; her four brothers, Carlos, Victor, Eddy, and Percy Acosta; and her two sisters, Paula and Caterina Acosta. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 13, 2025. Viewing 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. at Allwood Funeral Home, 660 Allwood Road, Clifton, NJ 07012. 11:30AM Funeral Mass will follow at St. Brendan's RC Church in Clifton, NJ, with burial at East Ridgelawn Cemetery.

Sonia's family will forever cherish her unwavering love, her bright spirit, and her example of strength and faith.
