Joanne Krestel Obituary
She was a graduate of Union High School class of 1949 and a Navy veteran from 1951-1955. Joanne loved to read, was active in politics, photography, and spending time with family and friends.
Survivors include three children, Susan L Bartholomew, John H. Krestel, Jr. and Jill A. Krestel, all of New Castle. She is also survived by her 8 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Sharon Lynne Krestel Hudach; her parents, Emil and Wanda Blazak Levensky; two brothers, Emil and Buzzy and two sisters, Carole and Eleanor.
Visitation will be held on Friday, September 26th, from 4-6 PM at R. Cunningham Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle. A memorial service will be held immediately following at 6:00 PM. The Rev. Dr. Adam Trambley will officiate. Military honors will be conducted by the New Castle Area Honor Guard. A dinner will follow the service at The Henry Banquet & Event Center at 20 S. Mercer St.
In lieu of flowers, donations to her favorite charities St. Jude’s Children's Cancer Hospital, Doctors Without Borders, and Smile Train would be appreciated.
