Joanne Jackson Lofquist, a beloved wife, librarian, and cherished friend to many, passed away peacefully on January 10, 2025, in Henderson County, North Carolina. Born on February 20, 1932, in Duplin County, North Carolina, Joanne lived a life full of love, dedication, and service, reaching the age of 92 years.
Joanne devoted her professional life to education, where she found her calling as a librarian. Her passion for reading and her commitment to nurturing young minds left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing her. Joanne's love for books was only surpassed by her love for her family, whom she cared for with unwavering devotion.
In her personal life, Joanne was known for her gentle spirit and her profound commitment to her family. She is preceded in death by her parents, John and Rena Sandlin Jackson, whose memory she cherished deeply throughout her life.
Joanne is survived by her loving and devoted husband, George Lofquist, who stood by her side through each chapter of their lives together. Their bond was a testament to enduring love and partnership.
