JoAnne Malley was born in Natchitoches, Louisiana to Willliam and Hazel Miley and passed away Friday, August 29, 2025 in Shreveport, Louisiana.
She taught elementary school, Adult Education in Many and Natchitoches and Education classes at Northwestern State University for over 25 years. She was an avid gardener, her orchids were her beloved specialty. She loved to travel in the United States and abroad, but her most favorite trips were to the beaches in Florida.
She is preceded in death by her parents and husband of over 35 years, Gerald Malley. Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Melanie Ann McGaha and husband, Skip, Julia Skinner and Virginia “Ginger” Warren and husband, Danny; step-sons, Jeff Malley and wife, Melanie, Jason Malley and wife, Paige and Jeremy Malley and wife, Jenny; sister, Carol Daly, numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and a host of other family members.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude’s Place, Memphis, TN 38105, Wounded Warrior Project, 4899 Belfort Rd., Jacksonville, FL 32256 or Tunnel to Towers Foundation, 2361 Hylan Blvd., Staten Island, NY 10306.
