A Memorial Service for Susan “Sue” Elizabeth Schloss, 84, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, October 20, 2025 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 1815 Marshall St., Shreveport, Louisiana. A visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until time of service. Officiating the service will be Reverend Barbara Jarrell.
Sue was born on June 25, 1941 in Cleveland, Ohio to Bill and Betty Pilot and passed away Saturday, October 4, 2025 in Shreveport, Louisiana.
She attended Bowling Green University in Ohio and married Larry Schloss on January 7, 1961. She worked many jobs while raising two boys, William and David. She was a Cub Scout Den Leader and was involved with many of boys' activities. She enjoyed gardening, staying busy in the yard, ceramics anad art projects. She loved animals. She was well known all over the neighborhood; all the stray cats and dogs knew they would get a good meal and a warm place to sleep at her house!
Her God given passion was helping people through their addictions. Sue's sober birthday was November 7, 1982, with 42 years of sobriety, living one day at a time. She was instrumental in several local groups helping people kick their addictions. She was on the board at the Oakwood Home for Women.
She loved seeing people start and live a new life. She was loving, caring, kind, patient, and a lot of fun. She could light up a room with her beautiful blue eyes and bright smile.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Larry W. Schloss, and many pets - too many to name. Left to cherish her memory are her sister, Judy Nelson and husband, Jim; two sons, William Schloss and wife, Janice and David Schloss and wife, Kristen; grandchildren, Steven Schloss and wife, Jena, Patrick Schloss, Jeremie Schloss and wife, Courtney, and James Schloss and wife, Ayaka; great-grandson, Isaac Usui- Schloss, Elizabeth Schloss and husband, David Hearn, and Ellynn Schloss; her cat, Snowy and many friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials may be made to Oakwood Home for Women, 1700 Highland Ave., Shreveport, LA 71101.
