JoAnne Louise Meyer, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, died peacefully on March 14, 2025, at the age of 93, surrounded by her children and grandchildren. She was born on December 11,1931, in Davenport, Iowa to Mary J. "Marne" and Harold B. "Red" McDonnell. She was the sister of Richard "Snook" McDonnell, Harold "Sonny" McDonnell and Mary Cox.
She spent her formative years in the Quad Cities where she graduated from Immaculate Conception Academy. After high school, she left and moved to Chicago to embark on a successful modeling career. In 1953, she married the love of her life, Herbert J. Meyer. JoAnne and Herb spent 50 years together raising their 5 children. While her true passion was her family, she was an avid bridge player and traveled the world over. After raising their children, Herb and JoAnne became longtime residents of Naples, Florida, where they were members of the Royal Palm Country Club and enjoyed playing golf and cards with their friends. She will be truly missed.
