Joanne M. Olson, 75, of Hibbing, MN, passed away on January 24th, 2026, at Fairview Range Hospital after a long illness. She was the youngest of three, born on September 1st, 1950, in Fort Morgan, CO, to Onerato J. "Ner" Belluzzo and Olga E. (Zaitz) Belluzzo. Joanne graduated from Chisholm High School and obtained her Bachelors of Science which gave her the ability to follow in her father's footsteps as a teacher. She met her husband, Thomas F. Olson, in 1978 and they were married for 47 years. Joanne and Thomas started their family together and raised two sons, Jason and Travis. Joanne spent the next 20 years as a home maker. In 2000 she went to work for Walmart and continued to work there for the next 20+ years.
In addition to her parents Ner and Olga, Joanne was preceded in death by her brother Thomas, brother-in-law Dennis Pat Olson, sister Patricia, and husband Tom Olson. Joanne is survived by her sons Jason (Jamie), Travis and grandchildren Madison, Samantha, Elijah, Christian and Carlie, along with her sister-in-law Cathy.
A celebration of life will be held in the spring.
