Joanne L. (Hastings) Prescott, 92, of a longtime resident of Bradford passed away on Tuesday, June 18, 2024 at Aspen Hill Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center in Haverhill. She was the beloved wife of the late Kenneth N. Prescott, with whom she spent 62 years of marriage.
Joanne was born in Chester, NH on July 6, 1931, and was the youngest daughter of the late Henry C. and Cora (Forsaith) Hastings.
Joanne was a graduate of Haverhill High School with the Class of 1949. She was employed at the former Lucent Technologies for many years until her retirement in 1996.
She was a longtime member of the First Church of Christ in Bradford. Joanne enjoyed reading, bowling, puzzles, playing cards with family, traveling and attending all her grandchildren's sporting and other events. She was a Boston sports fan, especially the Red Sox and Bruins. Above all, she mostly loved spending time with her family.
Joanne is survived by her two daughters Karen L. Wilson and her husband Paul of Haverhill and Kammy J. Lanza and her husband Michael of Haverhill; two grandsons Andrew P. Wilson of Haverhill, and Gerard M. Wilson and his wife Jennifer of Chelmsford, 3 great grandchildren Cullen, Oliver and Declan Wilson of Chelmsford; as well as many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Suzanne Prescott.
In addition to her loving husband, who passed in 2017, she was predeceased by her eight siblings Virgina Hamilton, Marie F. Beaudoin, James H. Hastings, Rufus F. Hastings, Martha Low, Bernice Barbieri, Francis L. (Frank)Hastings, and Frances Harmon.
The family would like to express their appreciation and thank the staff at Aspen Hill, and most recently Beacon Hospice, for their support and loving care of Joanne.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the calling hours on Tuesday, June 25th from 5-7 PM at the H.L. Farmer & Sons Bradford Funeral Home, 210 South Main Street Bradford. Her funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 26th at 10:00 at the First Church of Christ, 10 Church St. Bradford. Interment will follow in the Village Cemetery, Chester, NH.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to the First Church of Christ, 10 Church St. Bradford, MA 01835, the Alzheimer's Association or a charity of your choice.
