Joseph F. Devaney

Joseph F. Devaney, 86, of Georgetown, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 23, 2024, at his residence surrounded by his loving family.
He was born in Lynn, MA, on January 24, 1938, son of the late John and Rose (McFarland) Devaney.
Joseph was educated in the Lynn School System and graduated from Lynn Trade High School. Joseph joined the brotherhood of Maryknoll for several years before joining the United States Marine Corps in 1961, where he would serve our nation during the Vietnam War. He would go on to work as a welder for General Electric until his retirement. In his retirement, he dedicated his time to serving others, especially the parishioners of Sacred Hearts. As a devoted Eucharistic Minister and Altar Server for many years, he found great joy and fulfillment in his spiritual service to the community.
Joseph is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Lois Ann (Valle) Devaney, his daughter Sharyn R. (Devaney) Ruperti and her husband Carlos S. Ruperti of Andover, his siblings Eileen Lynch and her husband James of Maryland, Agnes Lacroix and her husband John of Nashua, NH, and Francis Devaney and his wife Marlene of Georgetown, MA. He was the loving grandfather to his two granddaughters Sienna A. Ruperti and Aria R. Ruperti. He is predeceased by his three brothers Leo, Lawrence and John Devaney.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend his calling hours on Wednesday, June 26, from 5-7 PM at the H.L. Farmer & Sons Bradford Funeral Home, 210 South Main St., Bradford. His Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be on Thursday, June 27, at 11 AM in the Sacred Hearts Church, 165 South Main St., Bradford. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family.
