Joanne M. (Lapriore) Quinn, 77 of Indian Harbor Beach, FL. Formerly of Shrewsbury and Worcester, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 19, 2025 at Life Care Center of Melbourne, Florida.
Joanne was a loving mother to her two sons, Joseph J. Quinn and his wife Dana of South Grafton and James M. Quinn, Jr. and his wife Renita of Warren, MA; three grandchildren, Dyllan and Jackson Quinn and Alise Joanne Quinn; a great grandson, Beckham Quinn; a sister, Barbara Docimo and her husband Robert of Auburn; two close cousins, Virginia Lewandoski and Josephine Stone both of Worcester; a close friend, Sharon and her cat “Zoey”; several other cousins and nephews. She is predeceased by her father, Joseph John Lapriore, her mother, Helen (Maciejewski) Lapriore and her step-father, Simon “Steve” Bumbly.
Joanne was born in Worcester, graduated from Shrewsbury Jr./Sr. High School, Class of 1966 and attended Quinsigamond Community College earning an associate’s degree. Joanne lived many years in Worcester and moved to Florida in 2001.
Joanne worked for over twenty years in the medical billing field including UMass Medical Center for over fifteen years later continuing her medical skills in Florida where she worked for several doctors’ offices throughout Melbourne, FL. She also worked at the Eye Institute and several nursing homes in Florida. Joanne was a former member of AFSCME Workers Union, she was a board member for the Bent Tree Homeowners Association and Gleason Park Community Center.
Joanne’s family would like to thank the caring staff at Life Care Center of Melbourne for taking special care of her.
Relatives and friends are invited to a period of calling hours on Monday, March 31st from 5-7 pm with her memorial service immediately following at 7:00 pm in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St., Worcester. Burial will be held privately at Worcester County Memorial Park at a later date.
