It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Joaquim "Jack" Neves Patinha, who left us peacefully at the age of 77 on September 29, 2024, at his home in Palm Coast, Florida. Born on July 5, 1947, in Mira de Aire, Portugal, Jack was a beacon of love, laughter, and generosity throughout his life.
Jack was a devoted husband to Isabel and a proud father to Miguel, Shelly, and Stephanie. He cherished every moment spent with his grandchildren-Felipe, Jacinta, Natalia, Lilia, Mila, and Xavier-who brought immense joy to his life. His warm spirit and kind heart touched the lives of all who knew him, creating bonds that will endure long beyond his passing.
Known for his remarkable storytelling, Jack had an uncanny ability to make everyone feel welcome and included. He lived by a strong work ethic, establishing a top-tier welding company, Jack and Son Welding, in Cromwell, Connecticut, while raising his family. His dedication extended beyond his business; he devoted countless hours to charity work, organizing fundraising events for new ambulances, futbol fields, and the Amplitude radio program. He took great pride in welding grills, gates, railings, and fences for his Church and Portuguese club, always seeking to give back to the community he loved.
A proud Navy veteran, Jack had a lifelong passion for fishing, futbol, and the joyous gatherings known as convivios, where friends and family came together to celebrate life. His zest for living fully was infectious, inspiring those around him to embrace every moment with gratitude and joy.
Jack is survived by his beloved wife Isabel, his children Miguel, Shelly, and Stephanie, and his treasured grandchildren. He also leaves behind his sister Fernanda Rosa and brother Francisco Patinha, as well as a host of friends and extended family. He was preceded in death by his brother Augusto Patinha.
In honor of Jack's life, a Celebration of Life Mass will be held on October 26th at 3 PM at Our Lady of Fatima in Hartford, where family, friends, and community members are invited to join in remembrance. Following the Mass, a private gathering will be held for family.
Additionally, a Celebration of Life gathering will take place on November 9th at Princess Place Reserve in Palm Coast, Florida, for friends and community members, with a gathering at his home to follow.
Jack's legacy of love, generosity, and camaraderie will forever remain in our hearts. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
