Jody “JoJo” Carey, 64 passed away on January 6, 2025 in Mapleton Community Home. 

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30a.m. Monday, January 13, 2025 at St. Teresa Catholic Church, Mapleton with visitation one hour prior. Burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery- Mapleton. Visitation will be 2:00p.m- 5:00p.m. on Sunday, January 12, 2025 at St. Teresa Catholic Church, Mapleton. 

Jody was born March 8, 1960 in Mankato, MN to James and Rita (Goettl) Carey. She graduated from Mankato East High School. She lived and worked in Luverne for over 20 years then returned to Mankato and worked for MRCI. 

Jody was an avid Vikings fan. She enjoyed collecting stuffed animals, putting puzzles together, playing BINGO, going out for chocolate ice cream, special Olympics, attending country music concerts, but most of all, she loved spending time with her family. 

Jody is survived by her siblings: Shari (Ron) Ward, Patrick (Colleen) Carey, and Suz Carey (Gary); Nieces and nephews: Cory and Holly, Alesha, Jesse and Emily, Kyle and Brianna, Chelsea and Tyler, Kimberly and Logan, Kirsten and Brad, Tanner, and Colter. She is also survived by Brigitte Carey, Donnie, Mona, Gordy, Andrea and families, as well as, many great nieces, nephews, and extended family. 

Jody is preceded in death by her parents, James and Rita (Goettl) Carey. 

Jody’s Family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Mapleton Community Home and Mayo Hospice.
