Jody Wayne Friend, 57, of Oakland, passed away on Friday, July 26, 2024, in Pittsburgh. Born on October 2, 1967, in Oakland, he was the son of Patricia (Tasker) Friend of Oakland, and the late David Friend.
Jody was a welder by trade. He was an avid fisherman and hunter and held a special place in his heart for his dogs, especially Zuse. He loved spending time with his family and friends.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his siblings, Sarah Durst and husband Jim of Ormond Beach, FL, Jeffrey G. Friend of Accident, and John C. Friend and wife Susan of Oakland; nieces and nephews, Timothy Durst, Carly and Eli Friend, Kennedy White and husband Robbie; great nieces and nephews, Brantlee, Oakleigh, and Ryder White; and his companion, Cathy Newhall; along with numerous friends whom he considered to be family.
Friends will be received on Wednesday, July 31, 2024, from 6 to 8 PM at the C & S Fredlock Funeral Home, P.A., 21 N. Second St., Oakland. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 1, 2024, at 11 AM in the funeral home with Pastor Russell Liller officiating. Interment will follow in the Bray Cemetery.
