Jody H. Johnson, a beloved fixture in the lives of many, departed this world on December 27, 2024, in Dayton, Ohio, his birthplace and home. Born on March 17, 1965, Jody's journey through life was adorned with laughter, resilience, and a vibrant spirit that captivated all who crossed his path.

For many years, he dedicated himself to Buschur's Home Improvements, where his diligence and commitment to quality work made him a respected member of his field. Jody’s humor rang loud in the halls of his workplace, and he brought joy not only to colleagues but to everyone fortunate enough to share a moment with him.

Beyond his professional endeavors, Jody's larger-than-life personality could be felt in the countless gatherings and celebrations he embraced with open arms. He was known for his generosity, particularly with those he loved, showcasing a heart as big as his laughter. Jody had an insatiable appetite for life, reveling in the pleasures of fine dining at fancy restaurants, always eager to sample the exquisite foods and drinks that charmed his palate. His foundation of joy rested on good company, often found at the Corner Club, where he thrived in the melodies of socialization amidst friends.

His life was also marked by his love for sports, especially football, and the thrill of chance—whether through a lottery scratch-off ticket or spirited trivia games. He embraced every opportunity to create memories, particularly enjoying the warmth of sunlit vacations that filled his heart with joy and camaraderie.

Jody leaves behind a loving family who will carry his spirit forward: his children, Steven Johnson, Cassandra Sellers (Matthew), and Mindy Johnson (Robin Hernandez); his cherished grandchildren, Theo Hernandez and Vanessa Sellers; and his devoted sister, Kimberly Johnson. The laughter and love he shared with his family will forever echo in their hearts. Jody always looked forward to spending every weekend with his grandson, Theo.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Linda Johnson, whose spirit surely welcomed him home with open arms.

Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance of Jody’s vibrant life during the visitation on Wednesday, January 8, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 3:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Rd, Dayton, Ohio.

Jody may have departed from our sight, but his indelible mark on the hearts of those who loved him will ensure that he is never truly gone. His laughter will resonate in our memories, his stories will be told with fondness, and his spirit will forever remind us to embrace life in all its beautiful, chaotic glory.
