Jody "Memaw" Starr

Jody "Memaw" Starr,70, of California, MO passed away on Saturday, September 21, 2024. She was born on November 25, 1953 in Maryville, MO the daughter of Earl Bryant and Barbara Dearmont both of whom preceded her in death. She was later united in marriage on May 16, 1980 in Maryville, MO to Walter "Jay" Starr who preceded her in death on May 11, 2020. Jody worked for the State of Missouri for 26 years. She was a member of the California United Methodist Church. Jody enjoyed scratch off tickets, crossword puzzles, traveling and spending time with her family and grandchildren. She is survived by her son, Ethan Starr (Shelly) of Sedalia, MO; 2 daughters, Kelli Hagenhoff (Terry) of Russellville, MO and Kristina Cortright (Jason) of Henderson, NV; 2 stepdaughters, Jamie Starr and Kara Follman (Dustin) all of Iowa; 3 brothers, Phil Bryant (Becky) of Dubuque, IA, Pat Bryant of Wilcox, MO and Michael Bryant (Keela) of St. Joseph, MO; 2 sisters, Maurine Mazzeo (John) of Florida and Barbara VanAusdall of Kansas City, MO; 13 grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother, Morrie Bryant. A special thank you to Rex and Sara Hill, Kenny and Linda Imhoff, Terry Imhoff, Norris Gerhardt and St. Croix Hospice. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Memorials are suggested to the California United Methodist Church or to the family of Jody Starr.
