He is survived by his children, Greg (Carla) Barkley and Grant (Sherry) Barkley; grandchildren, Jake (Kassie) Barkley, Lindsey (Jordan) Owensby, Hannah (Chris) Gareri, and Colin (Emily) Masters; great-grandchildren, Sadie Barkley, JT Owensby, Fallon Applewhite, Jacob Gareri, Finn Gareri, Tate Gareri, Raelin Masters, and Riley Masters; siblings, Robert Barkley, Jim Barkley, and Sara Lambert.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy S. Barkley, and several siblings.
Funeral Service will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, December 6, 2025, in the Chapel of Adams Brown Service Funeral Home with Bro. Wayne Brooks, Bro. Jim Barkley, and Bro. Wesley Kirby officiating. Pallbearers assisting Mr. Joe to his final resting place at Eason Johnson Cemetery will include Jake Barkley, Colin Masters, Chris Gareri, Brad Blackmon, Jeff Blackmon, Wes Brothers, and Jordan Owensby. The family will receive friends on Saturday, one hour prior to the service.
