Joe Don Coe, age 76 of Lewisburg, Tennessee, passed away Friday, June 20, 2025, at Tri-Star Centennial Medical Center in Nashville.
Joe was born October 5, 1948, in Vernon, Texas, to the late Marie Kollman and Les Sturgis.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Lee Perry Coe; daughter, Becky Jamison (Jamie) of Lewisburg; two sons, Aaron Coe (Donna) of Killeen, TX, and Neill Gathings (America) of Cookeville; two brothers, Howard Coe (Sherry) of Caddo Mills, TX, and Tommy Coe (Callie) of Pensacola, FL; eight grandchildren, Ezra, Tristan, Ryan, Riley, Bella, Claudia, Emily and Jaxon.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Peggy Charlton.
Joe retired from GM after 32 years of employment as a line worker and facilitator. He then worked 12 years as a parts representative for GM. He taught Sunday School at Meadow Lane Baptist Church in Arlington, Texas, for 12 years before moving to Tennessee. His love for our Lord and Savior shown in all he did. He never started a day without a word with his Lord. He was a loving and caring Pawpaw to his grandchildren, a devoted father and mentor to his children, and was married to his best friend, his soul mate and the love of his life for 53 years. Joe had a green thumb when it came to plants and loved to grow his tropical plants year round and shared them with others. He loved spending time at the beach or at the lakes with family and friends. He will be deeply missed.
Visitation with the family will be held at London Funeral Home, 324 West Church Street, Lewisburg, Tennessee, on Thursday, June 26, 2025, from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm.
Funeral Service will be conducted on Friday, June 27, 2025, at 9:00 am from the Chapel of London Funeral Home with burial to follow in Lone Oak Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Samaritan's Purse.
London Funeral Home and Crematory is honored to assist the family with arrangements.
