Joe Wayne Graves, born Joe Wayne Gilbert, Jr. on May 2, 1977, passed away peacefully at his home in Kenner, LA. He left behind a legacy of kindness, laughter, and music. He was a devoted husband to Jeanne Poupart Graves and loving stepfather to Blair Poupart. He is survived by his sisters, Nazarene Molero-Chatelain (Gary) and Rena Hurt (Shaine); his father, Joe Gilbert and step-father Jeb Klink; his nieces and nephews: Drew Chatelain, Mazzi and David Poupart, Cullen and Riley Hurt; his dogs: Sage, Bodhi and Luna; along with a host of cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Clara Ann Graves-Klink, his stepfather, Larry Molero Jr. and his other dogs: Bo bo, Sasha and Raji.

Joe was a proud Marine Corps veteran, an exceptional artist, and a gifted musician. Known for his warm spirit, Joe never met a stranger and made everyone feel seen and heard. He also had a gift for making people laugh and finding humor in everything.

A celebration of life will be held at All Saints Episcopal Church's Morris Hall, located at 100 Rex Dr., River Ridge, LA 70123, on Saturday, January 24, 2026 from 12 pm - 3 pm. Interment will follow on Monday 1/26/2026 at Southeast Louisiana Veterans Cemetery, 34888 Grantham College Dr., Slidell, LA 70460 at 12:30 pm. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to help support Joe's wife via her Venmo or Zelle account.
