Joe Wayne Hanzelka, 63, of Rosenberg, Texas passed away unexpectedly on November 3, 2023. He was born on December 30, 1959 in Richmond, Texas to Willie and Ann (Harris) Hanzelka. Joe retired last year from CenterPoint Energy after 44 years of employment. His hobbies included being outdoors, hunting, traveling and listening to red dirt country music. He was also involved with the Harris County Senior Softball League in Houston. Joe will truly be missed.
In addition to his parents, Joe is survived by his daughter, Sydney Hanzelka; brother, Richard Hanzelka; sister, Terri Hanzelka Gorka and her husband, Pete; along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and a host of friends.
Joe is also survived by his long-term companion, Sharla Crawford and her children, Cody Crawford and Morgan Mullins.
Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. -4:00 p.m., Sunday, November 12, 2023 in the Chapel of Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Home in Rosenberg. Come prepared to share a fun story or memory of Joe with the family.
Details for a future Celebration of Life will be forthcoming.
For those wishing, in lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Make A Wish Foundation, a group that helps grant wishes to pediatric patients.
