Joe Lewis was born August 13, 1937, to Morris and Henrietta Hill Lewis
in Luxora, Arkansas. Joe attended Luxora Public Schools in Luxora,
Arkansas. Later Joe moved to Chicago, Illinois. Joe worked as a
butcher for Yellow Front and Neighborhood Grocery Stores until he
retired. Joe met Joyce Dudley; they were married September 17, 1976.
In June 1982 Joe became one Jehovah's Witnesses South Maywood
Congregation. Joe enjoyed cooking, fishing, watching TV (westerns),
and listening to music.
Joe leaves to cherish his memory his wife Joyce Lewis; children Donna
Renay Lewis and Diane Renaye (John) Anthony, Burlington, Iowa,
Basil Dudley, Maywood, Illinois, LaCree (Damon Minifield) Davis,
Maywood, Illinois, and Carletta Lewis, Chicago, Illinois; Siblings:
Magnolia Davis and Maggie Lou Lewis, Burlington, Iowa, Thomas
(Erma Linda) Sterling, Iowa, Parlee Taylor, Burlington, Iowa, Willie
Lewis, Ottumwa, Iowa, L.C. (Sherry) Lewis, Burlington, Iowa, Jerome
(Mary Kay) Lewis, Colorado Springs, Colorado, JoAnne Lewis,
Burlington, Iowa, Louise (Ronnie) Stinson, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Earl
Lewis, Fort Madison, Iowa, Portia Jones Dawson, Streetsboro, Ohio,
James C. (Detrius) Jones, Fairburn, Georgia, Regina Jones (Earnest)
Debose and Willie Cobb Jones, Osceola, Arkansas, Anne Jones (Fred)

Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Morris Lewis and Henrietta
Hill Jones, stepparents Irene Garrett and Porter Jones, siblings Eva
Lewis Spencer, Katrina Jones, Charlotte Jones Travis, Fred Lewis, O.W.
Lewis, John Lewis, L.V. Lewis, Morris Lewis, Charles Jones, and
Everage Jones and children Joe Wade Lewis and Perry Lewis.
