Joe Lopez Obituary

Joe was a hard-working man who wore many hats over his career. He served as a maintaince man for KISD for years, he traveled all over building pipelines for El Paso Natural Gas, and later worked as a welder for many companies around West Texas. Joe was a big fan of sports and fishing. He was also very active with the Catholic Church where he enjoyed sponsoring the catholic youth programs. Joe was also known by the nickname of "Sonny" to his friends and family. Sonny will be dearly missed.
Joe is survived by his sons: Benny Lopez and wife Belinda of Kermit, Tx and Harold Lopez and wife Shelly of Wink, TX; daughters: Barbara Munoz of San Antonio, TX, Melinda White and husband Joe of Odessa, TX, and Brenda Denton and husband Mark, all of Odessa, TX; brothers: Eddie Lopez of Midland, TX., Roland Lopez of Round Rock, TX.; grandchildren: Amy, Joni and husband Louis, Gabby, Jeffrey and wife Stephanie, Kristen and husband Chris, Harold Jr. and wife Tania, Gracie and husband Blake, Tamara, Stephen and wife Judy, James and wife Alexis, and Danielle; great-grandchildren: Dominic, Cain, Shelby, Elijah, Matthew, Britney, Carly, Caleb, Madeline, Sophia, Zachariah, Easton, Lexi, Jayden, Madi, Colt, Mason, Mia, Addy, Jaxon, Jace, Azn, Judah, and Thalia.; great-great grandchildren: Neveah, Kailo, Oden, and Luka
He was preceded in death by his wife: Esther Lopez; parents: Palermo and Petra; brothers: Jay Palermo Lopez Jr, and Freddie Lopez; and sister: Pauline Lopez.
A rosary will be held at 6:30 pm, Wednesday, March 13, 2024 at Family Services Funeral Chapel. A funeral mass will be held at 2:30 pm, on Thursday, March 14, 2024 at St. Thomas/ St. Joseph Catholic Church in Kermit, TX officiated by Father Charles Rajan. Burial will follow at Kermit Cemetery. Pallbearers will include: Harold Lopez Jr., Stephen Salcido, James White, Jeffrey Lopez, Addy Denton, Joni Cruz, Amy Bushmire, and Kristen Ramirez. Honorary pallbearers are Duane Pando, Darrell Pando, Roland Lopez Jr., Michael Lopez, Jake Lopez, Trey Lopez, Marco Lopez, Eddie Lopez Jr. and Matthew Lopez.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to any Catholic charity, or the local Catholic church.
Arrangements are entrusted to Family Services Funeral Parlor and condolences may be sent to the family online at www.fs-fp.com.
