Joe Lyons Obituary
LYONS, Joe J. - Age 94, of Linden, formerly of Gaines, passed away November 24, 2024. Funeral services will be held 11AM Friday, November 29, 2024 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Linden Chapel, 209 E. Broad St., Linden. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery, Gaines. Visitation will be held 5-7 PM Wednesday. Joe was born July 5, 1930 in Clayton Twp., the son of Charles J. and Ernestine (Vogal) Lyons. He married Betty Ann Sagady on November 17, 1952 in Flint. Joe was a veteran of the US Army, serving in the Korean War. He retired from General Motors in 1987. Joe was also a farmer and loved farming. He is survived by his wife of 72 years, Betty; children, Douglas Lyons, Peggy (Tom) Christian, Patsy Young, Shirley (Mike) Sadler and JoAnn Lyons; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sisters, Dorothy and Lula Bell. He was preceded in death by his brothers, sisters and granddaughter, Lisa. Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com
