Joe Maynard

Joe Maynard, 41 of Harts, WV, departed from this world, or in railroad terms, pulled the pin on August 8, 2024.
Joe was a railroader for 20 years, his girls always said nobody could parallel park a train like their daddy. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge No. 140. Joe loved all sports and knew everything there was to know about them. "Kay stop side arming"! He was the adventurous type and was everything but boring. Joe enjoyed hunting and fishing, he never met a pocketknife he didn't like and absolutely no one except maybe Bam can tell a story better than he could. Joe resided beside his wife and his girls and that was enough to make him happy. He spent his last days cuddling his girls on the couch, petting his faithful dog, Meat and releasing the occasional sigh.
He was born June 16, 1983 in Huntington, WV the son of Isom and Orlantha Maynard. He was the baby of Gwen, husband of Jessica Maynard, and daddy of Kaylen "Boober Head" and Farrah "Daddy's Turd" Maynard. His niece Addison held a very special place in his heart, he always called her his baby. Others left to cherish his memory and sense of humor include his brothers, Jake and James, nephew, Asher Maynard, father-in-law, Donald Bell, mother-in-law, Martha Bell, sister-in-law, Natalie Evans, brothers-in-law, Brandon Bell and Chad Evans along with a host of aunts, uncles and friends.
Services will be held at 2:00pm, Tuesday, August 13, 2024 at Freeman Funeral Home with Dave Lucas officiating. Burial will follow at the Ramey Cemetery, Harts, WV.
Visitation will be on Monday, August 12, 2024 from 6:00pm until 9:00pm at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
