WHEELERSBURG-Joe Mowery, 66, of Wheelersburg, died Sunday, November 14, 2021 in the emergency room at the Southern Ohio Medical Center.
Born on November 25, 1954 in Portsmouth, he was a son of the late Bill Eugene and Helen Switalski Mowery.
Joe was a 1973 graduate of Notre Dame High School, a member of the 1967 Sciotoville Little League All-Stars, which won the state championship and went on to lose to the runners-up of the Little League world series.
He was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church, a member of the Knights of Columbus and a retired pipefitter from the Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 577.
Joe was a loving husband, father and grandfather.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing and loved Notre Dame Football
Surviving are his wife, Della Sammons Mowery; a son, Eric (Christine) Mowery of Minford; a daughter, Andrea (Daniel) Arthur of Piketon; three brothers, Pat (Teresa) Mowery of Sciotoville, Jim Mowery of Wheelersburg and Tim (Lucinda) Mowery of Portsmouth; a sister, Beth Fucci of Portsmouth; three grandchildren, Evan Arthur, Lily Arthur and Andrew Mowery and several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 18th, at St. Peter in Chains Catholic Church with Father Patrick Watikha serving as celebrant.
Interment will be in St. Monica Cemetery.
The family will receive guests at the BRANT FUNERAL HOME IN SCIOTOVILLE from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 17th.

I'm so sorry to hear of Joe's passing. I remember him well from my days at ND even though I was older than him and, of course, his baseball days.
