Laura Myers announces the passing of her husband, Joe on February 18, 2025 into his eternal home.
Joe graduated from Central Columbia High School and then joined the United States Navy serving from August 20, 1964 until being honorably discharged August 19, 1968.
He enjoyed playing his trumpet for family and various bands including the Navy Military Band, and most recently the Danville Community Band and his church, Shiloh Bible Church where he was a member most of his life. He also entertained children and adults at Christmas as Santa. He developed his own website "Castle Bisset".
Joe is survived by his wife the former Laura Black, whom he married September 1970, celebrating 54 years of marriage, brother Daniel Myers of Catawissa, and two sisters Eileen Erwine husband John of Buckhorn and Sandra Schwab of Bloomsburg.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents Thomas F. Myers Jr. and Marian L. (Bisset) Myers, and sister Maryellen Poust.
Our imaginative story teller and prankster will be greatly missed.
A celebration of life will be announced at a later date. Family and friends may send online condolences to bunnellfuneralhome.com. The Rodger T. Bunnell Funeral Home, Bloomsburg is handling arrangements.
