Joe Thomas Nelson of King, NC, passed away on September 21, 2025, at the age of 80.
He was born on March 17, 1945, to the late William Thomas and Irene Nelson. Joe was a member of Mount Pleasant Methodist Church. He spent most of his working years driving 18-wheelers, a career that suited his love of being on the road. After retiring, he enjoyed farming and tending to the land, as well as spending time behind the wheel of his Dodge truck.
Joe is survived by his wife, Carolyn Pearman Nelson; his children, Keith Nelson (girlfriend Karen) and Beth Wall (husband Harvey); and two grandchildren, Autumn Hickman and Zachary Jones.
A funeral service will be conducted 2:00 pm Wednesday, September 24, 2025, at Mount Pleasant Methodist Church with Rev. David Joyce officiating. Interment will follow the service in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
