Burtis Dow Nelson, age 60, passed away on September 10, 2025

Born 11/24/1964 in Bakersfield, CA. Burt was a proud graduate of North High School. He spent his entire life in the town that he loved, working as a plasterer - a trade he took great pride in and his dedication to his craft was know by all who worked with him.

Burt is the beloved son of Curtis and Sharon Nelson and is survived by his mother, Sharon. The love of his life, Dana Nelson. Daughter Heather Brown (Jason, Jacey, & Wyatt) Son, Cole Nelson, Sister Yvonne Cason (Bill) Darrin Cason (Leslie, Levi, & Reed) Keith Cason (Carlee, Bennett, & Vanna) Sister Carie Smith, Brett Smith (Andrea, Jack, & Eli) Kyle Epps (Michael & Emery)

Burt will be remembered for his love of family and the deep roots he planted. His smile and infectious laugh would light up any room he walked into.

He was loved by everyone, and we all have so many cherished memories.

Graveside services will be held Tuesday 10/14/2025 9:30am
