Caleb "Cal" M. Frantz, born on November 8, 1991, in Bakersfield, California, passed away unexpectedly on August 5, 2025, in his hometown. He lived a life full of love, adventure, and a spirit that touched everyone he encountered. Cal was the beloved son of Kimberly Freiberg and was preceded in death by his step-father, Jeff Freiberg, his brother, Matthew Frantz, and his uncle, Kelly Frantz. He leaves behind a loving family that includes his mother Kimberly, his sister Rebecca Freiberg, step-brother Marcus Freiberg, and his cherished grandparents, William and Rose Frantz. He also leaves behind a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who will remember him for his infectious charm and mischievous smile. A proud graduate of North High School in 2009, where he participated in the ROTC program. His quest for knowledge and passion for justice led him to serve in the United States Marine Corps from 2009 to 2014, where he was part of the legal department (JAG). His dedication to service and his country was a testament to his character, highlighting his smart, outgoing, and helpful nature. Cal furthered his education at the Santa Barbara Business College where he studied to become a paralegal. Cal had a vibrant personality that drew people in; he was known for his charm and mischievous spirit. Those who knew him remember his outgoing demeanor and his ability to brighten any room. Cal's interests were as eclectic as his personality, with a deep passion for anime and the Final Fantasy video game series, which fostered connections with friends and fellow enthusiasts. As we gather to celebrate his life, we invite you to join us for Cal's funeral service on 8/25/2025 @ 10:45 am at the Bakersfield National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation in Caleb's honor, as a way to continue his legacy of helping others. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Ruiz brothers for their unwavering support during this trying time. Their kindness and assistance have meant the world to our family. Caleb "Cal" M. Frantz will be deeply missed, but his memory will forever remain alive in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. Rest now soldier.
