A gifted athlete, Joe earned a full scholarship to play football at Clemson University before graduating from Elon College. Soon after, he answered a higher calling and joined the United States Marine Corps. Rising to the rank of Colonel, Joe served his country with honor through several tours in Vietnam. His bravery and leadership were recognized with numerous decorations, including three Bronze Stars, two Purple Hearts, and many other commendations.
Later in life, Joe was blessed to reconnect with the love of his life, Sheila Dixon Robinson, with whom he shared years of companionship, joy, and devotion.
Joe is survived by Sheila, his loving wife; children, Kristen Darcy (Neal) of Raleigh, NC, Amy Messina (Dan) and Joshua Robinson (Angela), both of New Hampshire; Kelly Pryce and Brandi Edwards (Chris) of Hamlet, NC. He also leaves behind ten grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, who will carry forward his legacy of love and strength.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dr. Joe Robinson and Louise Studdard Dabbs; and his brother, Jack Robinson.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 8, 2025 from 2:00-3:00pm at the Hamlet Church of God of Prophecy, 615 Cheraw Road, Hamlet, NC. A memorial service will commence at 3:00pm, with full military honors provided in recognitions of Joe's distinguished service to his country.

Joe leaves behind a legacy of commitment to his country and family- a legacy that will remain forever in the hearts of those who knew him.
