Brandy Gribbins Smith

Brandy Nicole Gribbins Smith, 48, of Rockingham, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 28, 2025 at Richmond County Hospice Haven.
She was born March 17, 1977, in Richmond County, daughter of Elaine Elmore Gaskins and Jeffrey Gribbins.
Brandy worked for many years in childcare, nurturing and touching many children's lives. She worked at Kiddie Korner and Mt. Olive Christian Child Care. Brandy enjoyed shopping, especially thrift store shopping with her mother. Christmas was her favorite holiday and she enjoyed decorating and was beautifully skilled with crafting wreaths.
Her brilliant smile and spirit would light up any room she entered and she was also the life of the party. Brandy will be dearly missed by her loving family and everyone who knew her.
Brandy is preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Bill and Colleen Gribbins; and her maternal grandfather, Howard Elmore.
Left to cherish her memories are her husband, Tad Eric Smith of the home; sons, Dylan Turner of Greenville, SC and Justin Turner (Destiny) of Hampton, VA; step-daughter, Payton Smith of Mocks ville; mother and step-father, Elaine Elmore Gaskins (Jeff) of Tabor City; father and step-mother, Jeff Gribbins (Lisa) of Rockingham; grandmother, Kay Mahaffey of Rockingham; step-grandmother, Betty Elmore of Rockingham; sisters, Ashley Gribbins Hill (Bill) of Ellerbe, Miranda Coates of Rockingham, Danielle Stevens of Easley, SC, Jeana Koen (David) of Atkinson, NC, Sara Cartrette (Josh) of Whiteville, Angie Lamont and Shannon Lamont, both of Rockingham; brothers, Jake LaBrake (Morgan) of Greenville, SC, David Gaskins (Kelli) of Currie, NC, and Matt Gaskins (Bailey) of Tabor City; nieces, Makayla Smith (Austin) and Haven, and Grace Hill; special friends, Lauren Dunn, Chasity Carlyle, and Dorothea Little; and many extended family and friends that loved her dearly.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 30, 2025 from 11:00am-1:00pm at Harrington Funeral Home, Hamlet.
The funeral service will begin, immediately following the visitation, at 1:00pm in the chapel of Harrington Funeral Home with Rev. Bobby Fletcher and Rev. Travis Wilkerson officiating. Interment will follow at Richmond County Memorial Park.
At other times, the family will receive friends at the home of Marc and Allison Harding, 117 Woodland Road, Rockingham.
