Charles Randall "Randy" Smith, 69, husband of Susan Smith, passed away on Sunday, November 9, 2025, at Cottingham Hospice House.
Born in Hickory, NC, Randy was the son of the late Charles Buddy Smith and Wilma Jean Smith Miller. Gifted with a talent for helping others in countless ways. He proudly served his country as a veteran of the United States Navy, then continued his lifelong commitment to service as a police officer and crime scene investigator for the City of Seneca. Beyond his professional accomplishments, Randy was called to ministry, serving as the minister for Williston Church of Christ and Seneca Church of Christ.
Randy loved the UNC Tar Heels, the Minnesota Vikings, Smithey Burgers, and a good helping of liver mush. He was always eager to lend a hand at vacation Bible school and Palmetto Bible Camp. His greatest joy came from coaching his kids, and countless others, in soccer, baseball, and basketball.
In addition to his wife, Randy is survived by his son: Matthew Smith (Lindsay); daughter: Ellen Smith (Drew); brother: Ricky Smith (Debbie); sisters: Karen Dunkleman (Al), and Kim Goodman (Jimmy); grandchildren; Kamden, Makenna, Micah, Ledger, Killian; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Randy was preceded in death by his beloved aunt and uncle: Carl and Vada Woodie.
A memorial service will be held at 2:30 PM on Sunday, November 16, 2025 at Seneca Church of Christ, 10833 Clemson Blvd, Seneca, SC 29678.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Southeastern Children's Home, an organization that was near and dear to Randy's heart, where he once served on the board of directors.
