Mr. Joe Neal Scott, age 84, passed away Monday, July 7, 2025 in Goldthwaite. He was born March 29, 1941 to the late Ruby and McCager Scott. He graduated from Sardis High School. Joe worked in the grocery business for many years as a manager and butcher and also worked in the timber industry. His hobby was "Re Nu it RV". He was a faithful member of Fellowship Baptist Church in Goldthwaite, where he spent many hours helping to rebuild the church. Joe loved the Lord and his family.
Survivors include his four sons and five daughters: Kevin Scott (Barbara) and Timothy Scott both of Goldthwaite, Michael Scott (Tara) of San Saba, Nick Scott of Byhalia, MS, Debbie Darby (James) of Early, Carol Robello (Jon) of Abilene, Heather Burton (Rodney) of Bowling Green, KY, Tina Burkeens (Shane) of Henderson, TN, and Shannon Sanders (Michael) of Southaven, MS; two sisters, Linda Welden and Barbara Clenney (Rickey) both of Reagan, TN; his brother, Glen Scott (Ann) of Savannah, TN; and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, family, and friends.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Norman Scott of Henderson, TN.
Local arrangements were under the direction of Heartland Funeral Home of Early.
Funeral services are scheduled for 12 PM, Saturday, July 12, 2025 at the chapel of Pafford Funeral Home in Scotts Hill. Interment will follow in Sardis Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday, 9 AM - 12 PM at Pafford Funeral Home in Scotts Hill.
