Joe Wendell Trousdale, 93, passed away peacefully on May 19, 2025 at his home with his daughter by his side.
Joe was born on June 14, 1931 to Dick and Minnie Trousdale in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma.
Joe is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Herman and Bill and a sister Louise. Also preceding him in death are three former wives, Thelma (Williams) Boyington, who he had five children with, Shirley (Sylvia) Cutler, who he adopted her daughter at age 10, Joyce (Collins) Trousdale, which he spent her final days with; Daughter, Christy Bennett; and Son, Martin "Quinn" Trousdale/Boyington.
He is survived by four children, Joe Trousdale (Dolores) of Palo Pinto, Texas, Monte Trousdale of Port Orchard, Washington, Minnie Overstreet-Smith of Lubbock, Texas, Deanna Heaton-Harlan (John) of Three Rivers, California; 14 grandchildren, many many great-grandchildren, and several great-great-grandchildren.
Joe worked as a baker in Seattle, Washington, then ventured into the oil fields where he became a toolpusher on the rigs in Bakersfield, California. He then started remodeling houses and flipping them before house flipping became popular. He enjoyed spending time out in his workshop and yard. He was a huge lover of animals, once even owning a wolf. (Sampson).
Burial was in Hazelwood Cemetery in Springfield, Missouri, May 30, 2025 at 2:00 PM. Final arrangements provided by Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home, of Springfield, Missouri. His final resting place will be next to his late wife Joyce.
