Joel was preceded in death by both his mother and father, brother Alberto Fajardo and sister Deborah R Fajardo-Lowe. He is survived by his wife Linda Hunter-Fajardo, son Bradley J Fajardo & wife Carla, his daughter
Cynthia "Cindy" Greganti & husband David, and stepson Troy Biles & wife Nicole, brother Steven Fajardo, sisters Delia "Rose" Montoya and Susan Elaine Fajardo. Joel "Jay" also leaves behind four beloved grand children, Kyle D Greganti, Kelli D Cook & husband Brian, Kristen L Sherrill & husband Will, Katelyn S Fajardo, Brooklyn Biles, and One Great grandson Mattox Sherrill.
Joel served his country in the Air Force for four years. After leaving the military he began his career with General Motors, and continued his education, earning his masters degree and doctorate. His GM career allowed him to travel the world, retiring at 56 years of age, he pursued his love of tennis. He was an avid player, and always played to win. He won lots of trophies and a bench was placed in honor of his accomplishments as a competitor in Shreveport, La.
He had a special love of art, travel, family and friends. He was so talented in "fixing things". He could do anything he set his mind to and didn't give up until his mission was accomplished.
He was a very Godly, spiritual man that loved and honored God with all his heart! He never ate a meal without holding hands and saying a prayer and at night he would always sit up in the bed and say a long prayer remembering all his children and grandchildren and all our friends that had ask for prayers! The last month he had become too weak to sit up alone and would ask Linda to give him a boost with her hand on his back!
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations made to Joel's favorite charity, St Jude's Children's Research and Hospital.
A celebration of Joel's life will be held on Thursday, June 19th, 2025 at Caruth-Village Funeral Home with military honors. Burial to follow service at CedarVale cemetery.
