Joel Guffey

Joel Robert Guffey, 19, passed from this life on October 3, 2025. He was born February 19, 2006, in Hutchinson, to Kevin and Cindy (Roberts) Guffey.

Joel graduated from KALJ Academy in 2024. He worked in the parts department at Agri Center since February, 2025, having previously worked at Chick-fil-A for 5 years. Joel loved Jesus, family, friends, "old school" country music, horseback riding, concerts and fishing. He grew up with a basketball in his hands and loved playing for the Sabres. Joel especially loved being an uncle to Kason and anticipated Briar's arrival in the coming months. He was a member of Crossroads Christian Church.

Joel is survived by: his parents, Kevin and Cindy Guffey of Hutchinson; sisters, Kaylee Yutzy (Corbin) of Hutchinson, Avery Guffey (Aaron Soellner) of McPherson, Landri Mills (Maddux) of Hutchinson; grandmothers, Kay Brewer of Hutchinson, Sharon Narramore of May, TX; nephew, Kason Yutzy; niece, Briar Mills; and many extended family members.

He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Carl Guffey, Roy Roberts, and B.A. Narramore.

Cremation has taken place.

A Celebration of Life service will he held 10 a.m. Thursday, October 9, 2025, at CrossPoint Church, 1410 E 30th Ave., Hutchinson, with Pastor Daren Lugafet officiating. Family asks that you honor Joel's life by wearing western attire or Sabres wear. Burial will follow in Wildmead Cemetery, Nickerson.

Friends may sign his memorial book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday-Wednesday, with the family present to receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, October 8, 2025, at Elliott Mortuary.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Joel Guffey Memorial Fund to benefit Roca Blanca Automotive Trade School (make check payable to Elliott Mortuary), in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
