Joel and I went to Classical HS in Providence - 4 years. During those years we were on the Traffic Squad together........ being sure students we up the UP staircase and down the DOWN staircase. Occasionally we would help Mr. Correnti and deliver books to various classes. That was lots of fun.
Joel was such a better student than I. He had the aptitude for science which I never acquired. I was a history, literature and drama person and the Periodic Table always was a mystery I could not solve.
He was such a nice person. Even though I really was a kid from the "wrong side of the tracks" he treated me always as a compadre (buddy). And we double dated several times - once IN a snowstorm - I thought he might be putting the family car in jeopardy - Also great fun.
While high school was a bit of a trial, Joel made it bearable foe me.
Over the last few years, we re-connected and had some splendid conversation.
I shall never forget this wonderful friend !

Joel was an amazing source of information and inspiration for me. I always left his presence with a renewed sense of purpose and a clearer direction. He has been a tremendous life coach for me and if we all took his advice and example the world would be a better place. I will miss him a lot
