Joel Willis Houck, age 77, of Coldwater, passed away Monday, September 15, 2025, at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne, IN. He was born in Coldwater on October 6, 1947, to Max W. and Wilma J. (Howald) Houck. He is survived by his wife, Robin Kesson.

Joel graduated from Bronson High School class of 1967 and went on to serve in the United States Army. Afterward, he worked at Post Cereals in Battle Creek, MI, for many years until his retirement. Known for his friendly nature and willingness to help others, Joel found fulfillment in sharing the hope for a better future through the Bible. As one of Jehovah's Witnesses, he often spoke about a time when pain, death, and sorrow would be no more.

Joel was also a lifelong farmer who cherished his time outdoors, whether tending to crops in the field or maintaining his lawn, which he took great pride in. He loved ice fishing, watching westerns on TV, and relaxing in his yard swing.

In addition to his wife, Robin, Joel is survived by three children; Shantel (Paul) Sicinski, Gina Ralston, and stepson Luke Kesson. He is also survived by daughter-in-law; Connie Houck, brother; Dr. Max Houck Jr. FRSC, grandchildren; Addam Meade, Mason Horn, Kayla (Horn) Lange, Sierra Sicinski, Anthony Sicinski, and Tristan Houck, sisters-in-law Nancy Houck and Sally Houck, several nieces and nephews, and Scott Horn and Charlie Hutchins, who were like sons to him.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Susan (Burkhart) Houck, his son Joel Houck Jr., two brothers; Lynn and Tim Houck.

A memorial service for Joel will be scheduled at a later date. Arrangements are entrusted by Eagle Funeral Home George White Chapel of Quincy.
