Joel Moreno nació el 26 de abril de 1964 en Laredo, Texas. Va ser recordado como el mejor papá, abuelo, hermano, hijo, pareja y amigo. Le precedieron en la muerte su hermana Alma Leticia Moreno, su tia Jeronima Moreno-Lopez, su primo Fidel Moreno-Lopez, y su suegra Maria Luisa Rios.
Le sobreviven sus hijos: Denisse (Joey) Sánchez, Joel (Vanessa) Moreno, Jr. y Ángela (Héctor) Martínez; su madre, Estefana Moreno; sus nietos: Samantha, Sophia, Joey Sánchez, Jr., Héctor y Olivia Martínez; su pareja, Minie Zepeda y las hijas de su pareja: Minie Garza, Einim Zepeda, Angie Zepeda, Susy Zepeda y Jazmín Zepeda; y sus hermanos: Gloria (Genaro) Moreno Casas, René Moreno, Andrés Contreras y María Victoria González y sobrinos.
Su familia, amigos, y compañeros lo recordarán por su gran nobleza, sentido de humor, humildad y grande corazón.
La familia recibirá sus condolencias el domingo 11 de mayo de 2025 en la Funeraria y Cremación Fred Dickey de 5:00 pm a 9:00 pm. Se rezará el rosario a las 7:00 pm. El funeral se llevará a cabo el lunes 12 de mayo de 2025 en la Funeraria y Cremación Fred Dickey, donde las puertas de la capilla abrirán a las 8:00 am. El servicio religioso se oficiará a las 10:00 am. A continuación, el entierro se realizará en el Cementerio Católico del Calvario.
