Joel K. Thomas

Joel K. Thomas, age 66, passed away on January 27, 2026. Born April 29, 1959, in Atlanta, Georgia, Joel was the son of Nalda White Weaver and the late Ronald Thomas.

A proud graduate of Newnan High School, Class of 1977, Joel stepped directly into the working world after graduation and built a life defined by dependability and quiet dedication. He spent more than 30 years with Kmart as a warehouseman, where he became known for showing up every day, doing his job well, and treating others with respect. Joel took pride in his work and in being someone others could count on.

Those who knew Joel will remember him for his steady nature, his kindness, and his humility. He never sought attention, but he made an impact through his consistency and the way he carried himself. He valued family, routine, and simple living, and he was content in a life built on honest work and meaningful relationships.

In addition to his mother, Joel is survived by his sisters, Jobeth Thomas and Amy Thomas; his stepdaughter, Kimberly Sherrer Dixon; his step-granddaughter, Lexi Toles; and his uncle, David White, all of whom will cherish his memory.

In keeping with his wishes, Joel will be cremated, and a private service for family and close friends will be held at a later date.
